Xico pronounced (SHEE-koe) was born on May 21, 2002 to his champion parents Bure of Gazember (Bure) and Big Mama Thorton (Abby) in Rapid City, South Dakota. He comes from a long line of Champions
Xico is a male Komondor, also known as a Hungarian Shepherd, king of the Hungarian livestock guarding dogs. Komondor's are one of the most unusual breeds seen in the United States today. This explains why this breed is not very easy to find. Nevertheless, Xico was found, in South Dakota, and joined Roberto and I on August 11, 2002.
Roberto, Zoe and I were so anxious to see Xico. We waited at the airport that Sunday morning wondering if Xico's flight went well. He finally arrived. We picked him up from baggage claim in his little crate. When we finally arrived at the house Xico was so scared, he didn't want to leave his crate. After a short while he felt confident enough to exit his crate and walked around the house until he found the spot that he determined would be his. Later, we took some pictures and took him on his first walk with us.
